On April 18 the City of Highland Village staff hosted over seventy five residents at Doubletree Ranch Park for a visioning session on the future of Copperas Branch Park. The park was recently turned back over to the city after serving as the staging area for the I-35 Bridge expansion project and now is the time to dream for the future of what the park can become. The Highland Village Parks department has hired la terra studio, a professional landscape architecture and park planning firm, to develop a master plan for the park. The master plan process will assist the community in setting a vision and strategy for the future re-development of the park. At this first public meeting the la terra studio team facilitated a workshop that gave the citizens an opportunity to express what "Strengths, Weaknesses, Challenges and Opportunities" exist for the future of Copperas Branch Park.

Here is a summary of the results of the meeting. This summary helps the planning team in determining what common themes were present with the group that attended the meeting. Common themes will be evaluated and expanded upon within the planning effort as well as any additional thoughts and ideas brought up during the community input phase of the project.
